Interestingly, in its reports and editorials and, very significantly, in the letters of readers it published, the Bombay Chronicle reflected both the strengths and weaknesses of the Nationalist Movement. The news reports, editorials and letters from readers published during the Malabar Rebellion of 1921-22 collected in this volume demonstrate this fact perfectly. This book is an invaluable document for students of history. Probably there are no parallels in Indian publishing history.
