This book is a result of the workshop held by G Stalin,retired senior lecturer of Kollam Education Training Institute. The insights that have been derived from this workshop, on the importance of reading and how to do so are the major areas discussed in the book. What is the significance of diction while reading? Does reading vary according to the content? Should a reader choose silent reading or reading aloud? Why does one read? How do we tread into the world of reading? The book raises these relevant questions and attempts to points towards the issue of reading different languages and how to deal with it. The author sheds light on the importance of reading quickly and reading between the lines. Familiarising with difficult and new words by referring to the dictionary and giving meaning to words are some of the author’s intentions for children.
